The College of Education is one of the first colleges that opened its doors to receive students, and that was the beginning of the academic year (1988-1989).
Arabic, English, and Mathematics. In its second academic year (1989-1990), new scientific departments were opened, namely history, chemistry, life sciences, and physical education. 2001-2002) and in (2012) the Department of Quran Sciences and Islamic Education was opened.
The College of Education is the mother of all the children of the university’s faculties, from which the College of Physical Education, Veterinary Medicine, Medicine, Science, Muthanna Education and Muthanna Sciences emerged. It has the credit for establishing the College of Wasit Education, as it was affiliated to the University of Al-Qadisiyah. The College of Education grants a bachelor’s degree in the aforementioned specializations.
It also opened its doors to receive students of preliminary evening studies for the academic year (1994-1995). It includes four departments, which are Arabic, English, mathematics and history. Other departments were opened, including the Department of Life Sciences, Chemistry and Physics, and the Department of Educational and Psychological Sciences for preliminary evening studies later.
The Faculty of Education now includes nine scientific departments, including humanities, which are Arabic, English, history, educational and psychological sciences, Quranic sciences and Islamic education, and the scientific departments are mathematics, chemistry, physics, and life sciences.
